Ranbaxy R&D Center | Gurgaon

Design / Completion 2002 / 2005

370,000 square feet

The research labs have been designed to provide flexibility to one of India’s leading research-intensive pharmaceutical companies. The new research center design involved overall master planning of the site and integrating an existing research building along with common facilities of cafeteria and an auditorium.

The five storied modular research building consists of 7 research wings with laboratories organized along a central spine to promote interaction. Laboratory wings are designed as research neighbourhoods, each with its own circulation, yet all linked to a main spine and to central administration areas.

An auditorium (400 Pax) and a conference center for 100 people makes the research center an interactive science building. The building design is centered around the main atrium which acts as the activity and discussion point with Coffee break areas facing it. The facade treatment consists of white and grey shades to gel with existing facility and to give a campus feel.
